On this date back in 1991, Alice in Chains was supposed to open for Van Halen in Memphis.
Huge gig.
Packed arena.
Lights shining.
Crowd ready.

Lights… camera… action?
Not exactly.

Jerry Cantrell wasn’t ready —
because he was out hunting…
and thought November had 31 days.

It doesn’t.

So the band missed the entire show.
All because Jerry added a bonus day to November.

Sometimes life throws chaos at you…

Today, I made sure not to lose a day for the year.
