5K EVERY DAY – Day #224

(“Sad but True” – Metallica)

During the magical year of 1991 – on this very date – Metallica release their 5th album, which is self-titled but commonly known as The Black Album. Includes numerous hit songs like “Enter Sandman,” “The Unforgiven” and “Nothing Else Matters.” My favorite though is “Sad but True”

Speaking of “Enter Sandman” – For the first time since 2019, the Yankees brought back Old Timers’ Day – a friendly game between the greats of past Yankees teams. Unfortunately, Mariano Rivera tore his Achilles during that game.

For those who dont’ know – “Enter Sandman” was Rivera’s entrance song from the bullpen. However, the injury occurred while he was in the outfield. Because of this, I’m not going to be running around in the Yankees outfield anytime soon. I ran on the treadmill this morning.
