48 years ago today, Voyager 1 blasted off. It’s the farthest human-made object from Earth, and it’s a testament to a long and solo journey.

But it’s not alone out there. Voyager 1 carries a Golden Record, a “time capsule” with music from Beethoven to Chuck Berry.
