My Miami Vice Run (With Socks) and Phil Collins in my Ears | Day 259

5K EVERY DAY – Day #259

(“Original Miami Vice Theme Song” clip from Jan Hammer)

Today marks the anniversary of the debut of Miami Vice, a show that not only changed television but music and fashion as well.

Because of Miami Vice, all of sudden in 1984 there was a ton of bright white clothing along with brilliant blues, hot pinks, and, of course, no socks. The show’s two-hour premiere was perfectly scored by the iconic Phil Collins song, “In the Air Tonight.”

I can run to that song, but I’m going to have to wearing socks with my running shoes.
