On this date back in 2012, INXS played their final concert — performing in Australia with Ciaran Gribbin (Key-e-ron Grib-bon) on vocals, opening for Matchbox Twenty.

Gribbin performed more than 50 shows as their frontman and even co-wrote two songs with Andrew Farriss — the same dude who wrote side-by-side with Michael Hutchence.

Pure Guava, Ween’s third studio album, dropped on this date back in 1992 — and the band’s been thriving in their own weird lane ever since.

They never chased trends, never played it safe — they just kept doing their thing.

The year: 1999. The date: today. The always-intriguing Fiona Apple released her second album — I’d love to say the full title, but then this video wouldn’t be a short.

Why? Because the title is 90 words long.

That mouthful of a title came from a poem she wrote after reading her 1997 Spin interview — where the writer completely misunderstood her.
Because of its size, the album is usually listed simply as When The Pawn….

She owned her voice, no matter how misunderstood. Today, I owned mine – I ran.

Everybody does know that rich, deep voice — Leonard Cohen. A poet, a prophet, and a musician inducted into just about every Hall of Fame imaginable.

Sadly, we lost him today back in 2016. What’s incredible is that his final album, You Want It Darker, was released a couple weeks prior to his passing. That is a commitment to the very end. Showing up and staying on your feet when everyone else has stopped.
