Throwback Playlist from 2019! / “Quote of the Day” via Seneca about Size Doesn’t Matter

5K EVERY DAY – Day #47

(“Work Shoes” song)

Ever need a weekend away from a weekend? I’m feeling that

(“SOS”)

Those songs are from a running playlist I created back in 2019. 5K Every Day – I succeeded in doing this back in 2021. BUT – I first tried doing it in 2019. I made it all the way to July 15th and then I hurt my knee in Jiu-Jitsu class.

Sorry for the Delay – Blame the Parade / NEW MUSIC FRIDAY: Bryce Fox, Bon Iver, FJM, Japanese Breakfast, Saint Motel

new music friday / Friday 02-14-25

(New Music Friday Intro)

Happy Valentine’s Day Weekend! Spread that love around . . . even to them. Everyone’s like – who’s them? Cowboys Fans . . . it’s a sad time for them. (picture of the parade) They probably wouldn’t have gotten any love there – that was a shot of the Art Museum on Friday for the Eagles Super Bowl parade – before it got really crowded (picture) And – that’s a picture of my gang that went to the parade. It’s why New Music Friday is a little tardy. Who’s coming up: Bryce Fox, Japanese Breakfast, Bon Iver, FJM, and Saint Motel

(Countdown Video)

New Music Friday:

  • Bryce Fox already has a busy 2025 lined up while touring with AWOLNATION, but he added to his workload fun by announcing the upcoming release of a new album called The Butterfly and the Bomb (“Butterfly”) That song “Butterfly” is a part of an EP called The Butterfly – 4 of those 5 songs will be found on this upcoming album along with 9 others like the song “King is Dead” (clip) Today though, we’ve got a new one to add to the Valentine’s Day Weekend playlist called “Psychopath” (clip)
  • Japanese Breakfast is a band that I talked about last month. Remember – Michelle Zauner is Japanese Breakfast and her memoir is Crying In H Mart (clip) “Orlando in Love” was the 1st release we heard off her upcoming 4th album: For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women). The whole album drops on March 21st, but today we have the 2nd song release called: “Mega Circuit” (clip)
  • Last October, Justin Vernon aka Bon Iver released a 4 pack of songs EP called SABLE (“SPEYSIDE” clip) Those same 4 songs will lead off his upcoming new album which will have 8 other songs – 12 in all if my calculator proves correct – album is called SABLE, fABLE (clip) “Everything Is Peaceful Love” is the first release off this new album, which is the first from Bon Iver since 2019 – arrival time is April 11th. //
  • Several quick hits of new music: Father John Misty who released Mahashmashana last November. Love that album, so much so – I got it on vinyl. Anyway – for all you FJM fans, he released an album of demos from his I Love You, Honeybear album – which turns 10 this year // Our Lady Peace snuck in a new song on their EP release called OLP 30 Vol. 3 – it’s 5 song of their past work along with this new one called “No Angels in this Town” // I listen to the weekly show Advanced Placement on Sirius XM’s AltNation channel. I heard new song from the band Saint Motel which also just dropped a new album called: Symphony in the Sky. I’m still digging into it, but here’s a sip of the sound I experienced with the song called “Get It At Home” (clip)

Thank you to Spotify, Rolling Stone, Apple Music, uDiscoverMusic, Pigeons & Planes, Pitchfork, Louder, Spill Magazine, Dan Deluca of the Philly Inquirer & I know there’s more.

I put together a Spotify playlist of the songs that I talked about and thought about today for New Music Friday. Click here for that! Anything that I really messed up and missed – well, that’s why I’ll be doing Missed Music Monday on Monday.

Celebration of Eagles Up in a Tree / “Quote of the Day” from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

5K EVERY DAY – Day #46

(“Celebration” clip)

Yesterday, I celebrated with way too many Eagles fans in Philadelphia for the parade. A lot of people got wonderful pictures and videos of the players, but how about Eagles in a Tree?

(Video Tree clip)

It was fun and memories were made. Just like the 45 record says – it was a celebration.

And – personally, I celebrated run #46 of the year.

5K Run Completed, Now – Off to a Parade in Philly! / “Quote of the Day” from Jalen Hurts

5K EVERY DAY – Day #45

(“Happy Feelin’s” song)

I’ve got some cold feelings in the air. Trying to get to the gym as early as I can to get my 5K Run in because I’ve got to get somewhere.

(Day #45)

And done. Trust me – I’m sweaty – see the hat. Now, I got to get home and get ready – I’m going to the Eagles parade today in Philly. Also, that song I played at the beginning – that song played on loop after the Super Bowl win because it’s the favorite of Jalen Hurts.

(“Happy Feelin’s” song)

Quote of the Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Go Hug Someone . . . legally of course. Not randomly – that could be very negative.

The Return of the 3-Day Fast – gulp (just air) / “Quote of the Day” from Weird Al Yankovic

5K EVERY DAY – Day #44

Hit the treadmill today and my ear buds would not work with my phone. The music in the gym was a little low today. It’s rough running with just you and your thoughts.

(Day #44)

I’m sorry. I won’t do that again. Let’s play something.

(“Eat It” clip)

Love me some Weird Al. One week from today – I’ll actually be wrapping up my 3-Day Fast.

Not Enough Snow for a Trail Run / “Quote of the Day” from Mister Rogers

5K EVERY DAY – Day #43

(“Let It Snow” song)

So, as you can see – it did snow last night. BUT – not enough to keep me at home and on the trails. I did make it to the gym for my run.

(#43)

FYI – it is cold out there. By the way, I did want to mention – I’m not always so happy go lucky as I may portray on here.

Did you know that there is a mistake in the beginning of that Van Halen song?

(“Eruption” song)

Yeah – I didn’t hear it either. Tell the guitar teacher story.

5K EVERY DAY – Day #41

(Fly Like An Eagle – Steve Miller)

Ever since last night, my face has been very smiley.

(“Smiling is my favorite”

Isn’t that the best sign ever? Go Birds!

Does anyone remember when the game was close last night? I think they call it kick-off?

(“Thunderstruck”)

I’m sorry. Allow me to soak it in and Enjoy the Now!

I did run!
