With the year coming to an end – there are so many countdowns! Best Albums of the Year, Best Songs of the Year, Best Rock Songs of the Year, Best Morning Babble episodes. No – that’s not actually one of them. But – if someone wants to do that, it will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to do this video for my top 25 Christmas songs. I’ll have to see what I can do. I want to do something, but am not sure if I can make that happen. As you all have witnessed, I have limited video editing skills / “shocking”

New Music Friday:
I put together a Spotify playlist of the songs that I talked about and thought about today for New Music Friday. Click here for that!
- Green Day have shared another new song “Dilemma” this is the third preview of their new album, Saviors. That album arrives next year on January 19th – psst, that’s next month. With the single release, we get a video release as well where you get to see Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong drinking heavily at a show. Its a real “pick me up” for the weekend. Again, this is “Dilemma” (clip)
- The Killers have a new album out but it’s a greatest hits album. The new one that they created – was scrapped because it felt forced and not “authentic” enough. Side – hey, what did you put in that trash can over there? Anyway, we do get the greatest hits album with 20 songs and all packaged up under the title of: Rebel Diamonds. Track #20 is a new song though and it’s called “Spirits” (clip) By the way, in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, Killers lead guy Brandon Flowers explained how his first cassette that he went and spent money on was the Cars’ Greatest Hits (clip).
- The Vaccines have an album due out early next year – January 12th to be exact. It’s called Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations. They will also be hitting the road at that same time for a series of shows in support of the new record, but you have to go to the UK to catch them – that’s where all the shows are right now. By the way, this is the song that I heard that made me think of The Futureheads and then play their song “Skip to the End” but at the very beginning of the Babble. And now that we are all confused, here’s The Vaccines with “Love To Walk Away” (clip)
- Several quick hits of new music: Bright Eyes have shared a new cover of the John Prine song “Christmas in Prison.” Proceeds from the song will benefit the late Prine’s charity, the Hello in There Foundation // Happy Birthday, Nicki Minaj (she’s 41) and for her birthday, we all get her new album: Pink Friday 2 // Bryan Adams (cuts like a knife) Yeah, that Bryan Adams (Heavan) and that Bryan Adams. He’s got a new live album out today // Earlier this year, Nessa Barrett released her hell is a teenage girl EP. Since then, she got ghosted by some dude that scampered off to NY. In turn, she wrote a song about it. Here’s “Girl in New York” (clip)
