New Music Monday: Phoebe Bridgers Returns, Troye Sivan Goes Hollywood, and Run-DMC Hits Vinyl

3,2,1 – New Music Monday / 08-17-26

(3,2,1 New Music Monday Intro)

Welcome to Music That Matters with 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.

This week, we’ve got Phoebe Bridgers back – that’s big, then Jungle bringing the sunshine to the summer, and holding down the 3rd spot is an album that I was looking forward to hearing: Judah & The Lion

Plus, Troye Sivan goes full movie-star mode, Royal Blood gives us a ten out of ten, and Run-DMC raises a little hell on vinyl.

(Countdown Video)

3 major album drops.

First up — we have the Phoebe Bridgers album: Lost Weekend, her first solo album in six years.

(“Lost Boys” clip)

After Punisher, after boygenius, after becoming one of the defining voices in indie music, Phoebe is doing her own thing again and the emotional sounds you hear and feel on this album are completely Phoebe Bridgers

(“I Can’t Wait” clip)

After Phoebe’s emotional lane, Jungle gives us the groove-based summer release.

(“Sunshine”)

That’s the title track for the album – Sunshine. Summer isn’t over yet and this album proves just that.

For the third album, we’re going to one that I circled the date for.

(“Maybe The Best Is Now”)

Yes, I realize that there are new records out from Carly Simon, Marilyn Manson, The Script, and more. But I wanted to make sure that you got to enjoy some Judah & The Lion and their newest album – I Am a Prism.

(“Powerless”)

2 new singles.

Troye Sivan is here again with “She’s the Best”

(“She’s the Best” clip)

… and the video goes full movie-star mode — right in the middle of the fantasy is Nicole Kidman – she is the best – a ten some might say. And speaking of tens.

(“Ten Over Ten” clip)

Royal Blood’s “Ten Over Ten” brings the rock I needed for the week. Full album drop this November – that’s like turkey time – must be patient.

(Record Scratch video)

Run-DMC’s Raising Hell is back on vinyl.

(“Its Tricky” clip)

Produced by Russell Simmons and a 23-year-old Rick Rubin, this is the album that shoved hip-hop into the middle of pop culture.

And then, of course, there’s the song that kicked down the wall between rap and rock.

(“Walk This Way” clip)

That’s your 3 albums, 2 singles, and 1 vinyl for the week.

This has been 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday

Until next time.
