This week, we’ve got a Beastie Boy going solo, the return of Alabama Shakes, and Alex Warren getting personal on WILDCHILD.
Plus, Olivia Rodrigo gets dystopian, Queens of the Stone Age get perfectly imperfect, and Post Malone brings his first mixtape to vinyl.

3 major album drops.
First up A Beastie Boy by the name of Mike D

Thank You is his debut solo album and it marks the first new music from the Beastie Boys’ world since 2012.
But this isn’t just Mike D trying to recreate the Beastie Boys. The album has this glitchy, experimental feel, AND it includes his sons, Skyler and Davis Diamond.

Next, Alabama Shakes are back with their first album in 11 years: with I Must Be Dreaming

Apparently, the reunion started with a benefit gig at Druid City Brewing Company in Alabama.
That chill hometown moment eventually turned into a full album.
So yes, I feel hope coming.

And then we have Alex Warren with WILDCHILD.
John Mayer plays guitar on the title track – and Mayer was Alex Warren’s late father’s favorite musician.
So in a way, Warren got to put the two of them together on the same song.

2 new singles.
First up – Olivia Rodrigo with “serena joy.”

The title comes from the character in The Handmaid’s Tale, and is most definitely NOT just another breakup song.
Also new this week – Queens of the Stone Age with “Insignificant Other.”

This song gives us nearly six minutes of that moody rock we know from Queens of the Stone Age. This is also the lead single off their upcoming album Perfecth – spelled like “perfect” but with an H – because it’s Queens of the Stone Age.

And finally, 1 vinyl pick.
Post Malone’s first mixtape from 2016 and called August 26 is officially coming to vinyl for its 10th anniversary.
So if you only know Post from the country era, this is a chance to go back to the mixtape that started the whole thing.
