3,2, 1 – New Music Monday (for a Tuesday) / 09-08-26
(3,2,1 New Music Monday Intro)
Welcome to Music That Matters with 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.
This week: ADÉLA debuts, Kasabian hits ACT III, and Ellie Goulding knows way too much – plus Miley, Shania, and a lost Ben Folds Five recording on vinyl.
(Countdown Video)
3 major album drops.
First up, we have ADÉLA with her full-length debut album.
(ADÉLA “Ain’t in LA” clip)
That’s “Ain’t In LA,” which was the first single from PRIMA.
Title was chosen because it connects to prima ballerina – the top dancer in the company.
You can see some of those dancing moves in her newest video, “Nicole Kidman,” which is not safe for me to play here.
Sooooooo… next artist, please.
(Kasabian “Nothing Better Than This” clip)
Kasabian is back with ACT III.
The third act is where everything comes together – and for Kasabian, that makes sense with this being their third album since their guy Serge took over on lead vocals.
(Kasabian – “Superpowers” clip)
And then Ellie Goulding is back with her sixth studio album
(Ellie Goulding – “Black Prada Dress” clip)
From the title alone – I Know Too Much – it sounds like she might have some receipts.
10 tracks in just over 30 minutes- and It’s being described as part heartbreak, part rebirth for Ellie
(Ellie Goulding “Ravers” clip)
2 new singles.
It’s just Miley with “Bass Persuades.”
(“Bass Persuades” clip)
This is the first single from her upcoming album, also called Bass Persuades, arriving September 18th.
Her bass is definitely persuasive.
Also new this week – Kane Brown with Shania Twain on “Boots.”
(“Boots” clip)
This one gives a nod to Shania’s 1995 classic “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?”
But this time, Kane flips it into more of a guy’s version – and brings Shania herself along for the ride.
(Record Scratch video)
And finally, 1 vinyl pick.
Ben Folds Five’s self-titled debut is back for its 30th anniversary.
which includes the long-lost “Shelved First Attempt.”
Basically, that’s version of the record fans were never supposed to hear.
(Ben Folds Five clip)
That’s your 3 albums, 2 singles, and 1 vinyl for the week.
This has been 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday
