3,2, 1 – New Music Monday / 10-05-26

(3,2,1 New Music Monday Intro)

Welcome to Music That Matters with 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.

This week: Miranda Lambert goes disco, Quavo hits the high seas with Pharrell, and Dead Poet Society brings the rock.

Plus, Lil Nas X, Father John Misty, and some previously unheard Mac Miller music on vinyl.

(Countdown Video)

3 major album drops.

First up – Miranda Lambert has gone country disco with Crisco.

(“Crisco” clip)

The album has some serious ’70s energy, and she even brought in Chris Stapleton and Ella Langley for a little extra help.

By the way – with a title like Crisco, you would think somebody would make a butter-colored vinyl edition.

But guess what? They did.

Next, Quavo teamed up with Pharrell Williams, who executive produced the album: QRÖMELIFE

And apparently, some of this collaboration happened aboard Pharrell’s yacht.

So that’s Quavo, Pharrell, and a recording studio floating somewhere in the ocean.

Yeah, of course, I’m jealous.

And finally, Dead Poet Society with their third album, Monarch.

They brought in Paul Meany from Mutemath to produce it.

If you enjoy heavier alternative rock with some serious grooves, give this band a listen.

(“Cold” clip)

2 new singles.

Returning is Lil Nas X with “World’s Greatest.”

This is a much more personal release because it pays tribute to his late mother while revisiting childhood memories.

And then we have Father John Misty with “The X-panded Universe.”

(“The X-panded Universe” clip)

This is actually his third single of 2026. And yes, if this is starting to sound like a Marvel movie, the lyrics get into crossover events, alternate timelines, as well as heroes & villains.

And finally, one vinyl pick.

Mac Miller’s The Divine Feminine celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new three-LP edition.

But here’s the exciting part.

We’re getting THREE previously unreleased songs from the original recording sessions, including “Butterflies,” featuring Thundercat on bass.

That’s your 3 albums, 2 singles, and 1 vinyl for the week.

This has been 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday

Until next time.
