3,2, 1 – New Music Monday / 10-12-26
(3,2,1 New Music Monday Intro)
Welcome to Music That Matters with 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.
This week: Troye Sivan gets some help from Hollywood, Greta Van Fleet builds a palace, and Sheryl Crow delivers it short and sweet.
Plus, new Royal Blood, Good Charlotte teams up with a Marley, and Johnny Cash goes blue on vinyl.
(Countdown Video)
3 major album drops.
First up – Troye Sivan with his fourth studio album, She’s the Best.
(“She’s the Best” clip)
Apparently Troye decided that the music alone wasn’t enough.
Nicole Kidman showed up in the title-track video, while Ian McKellen lends his voice to “Party.”
(“Party” clip)
Troye’s building himself a rather impressive guest list.
Next, Greta Van Fleet returns
(“Play Your Games” clip)
The album title – Palace for the People – was inspired by London’s Alexandra Palace, better known as “Ally Pally” — or “the People’s Palace.”
Maybe Greta Van Fleet will bring that massive 2027 tour there?
(“Saw You Stand” clip)
And then we have Sheryl Crow with Pick You Up.
(“Pick You Up” clip)
Don’t turn it on and leave the room because it’s just seven songs.
But you know what – Sheryl Crow doesn’t need 17 tracks to make her point.
(“Freedom Bus” clip)
2 new singles.
The Royal Blood duo says this one is about what music can do to your mind and your mood.
(“Dead Company” clip)
The song is “Dead Company” and it’s also another taste of Royal Blood’s upcoming self-produced album.
Next – Good Charlotte with Ziggy Marley on “U R.”
(“U R” clip)
That song was originally released under The Madden Brothers back in 2014.
Eventually, they pulled it from streaming.
Now they’re bringing it back under the Good Charlotte name – with Ziggy Marley joining this new version of “U R.”
(Record Scratch video)
And finally, one vinyl pick.
Johnny Cash with Hello, I’m Johnny Cash.
(“Blistered” clip)
The 1969 album has been reissued on blue vinyl.
The original album hit number one on the country chart and includes “Blistered,” “See Ruby Fall,” and “If I Were a Carpenter”
(“If I Were a Carpenter” clip)
Johnny Cash on blue vinyl?
Yeah. I’m good with that.
That’s your 3 albums, 2 singles, and 1 vinyl for the week.
This has been 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday
Until next time.
