(Music Cut #1 — “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town”)

‘Twas the night before Vs.…

At least here in America.

Over in the UK, Pearl Jam fans were already enjoying their second album…

but back in the States…

Vs. wouldn’t arrive until October 19th of 1993.

(Music Cut #2 — “Alive” / “Jeremy” clips)

Pearl Jam had already given us…

“Alive”…

“Jeremy”…

and “Even Flow.”

Pretty simple titles.

And Eddie Vedder was…

a little tired of them.

So he went in the COMPLETE opposite direction…

“Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town.”

Whew.

I’m winded after that.

(Music Cut #4 — “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town”)

LYRIC OF THE DAY:
“I just want to scream, ‘Hello
My god, it’s been so long, never dreamed you’d return
But now here you are and here I am’.”
