built around one of the most recognizable

vocal hooks of the early ’90s.

That famous “I’ve got the power” vocal came from Jocelyn Brown.

The rap was from Chill Rob G.

The beat pulled from Mantronix.

behind the scenes though, it was basically a sample custody battle.

But somehow – Snap! turned all of that into one of the biggest dance songs of 1990.
