A Shelved Movie, a Creepy Unicorn, and a Bunch of Idiots

Movies That Matter / 08-28-26

(Movies That Matter Intro)

Welcome to Movies That Matter, where we look at three movies worth knowing about before the weekend begins.

Coyote’s latest problem wasn’t catching the Road Runner – it was getting his movie released, then children’s television takes a very dark turn, and a movie called Idiots pretty much tells you what you’re getting.

What’s new? Well… technically, a movie that almost never made it out.

Finally hitting theaters this weekend – Coyote vs. Acme

This movie was already finished when Warner Bros. shelved it back in 2023.

Another distributor stepped in, bought the movie, and now—3 years later—Wile E. Coyote finally gets his day in court.

Apparently, children’s television needed a horror movie.

Buddy might look like a colorful ’90s kids show starring a giant orange unicorn who loves singing, dancing and spreading happiness. But…

The problem is when one of the kids refuses to play along… Buddy does not take it well.

So basically… it’s like Barney with an R rating.

Whew. I need something fun.

Ahhhh, a movie called Idiots.

Starring Dave Franco and O’Shea Jackson Jr. – they play two drivers hired to take a wealthy teenager to rehab.

What could possibly go wrong? … pretty much everything.

That’s this weekend’s Movies That Matter.

From courtroom coyote to nightmare children’s television to a whole lot of bad decisions, there should be something waiting for you at the movies.

Until next time – keep on popping the corn.
