This week: Jhené Aiko reunites with Kendrick Lamar, Bloc Party brings back 2000s indie-rock energy, and I make room for a personal favorite, Pokey LaFarge.
Plus, Kings of Leon returns, John Legend teams up with Pharrell, and we’re going Canadian with Celine Dion on vinyl.

First up, we have Jhené Aiko giving us her latest album called Westside Whimsy

And that’s the song to know: “So Good,” because it reunites her with Kendrick Lamar for the first time in more than a decade.

Bloc Party also returns with Anatomy of a Brief Romance, giving us a quick shot of 2000s indie-rock energy that helped define that decades guitar revival.

And for the third album, I made room for one my favorites: Pokey LaFarge who just dropped his 10th solo album: Rent Money

That’s the album’s title track.
Now, spinning this album, I hear old-school country, blues, and swing come alive again.
Some would even call it West Virginia jazzy blues.

And finally, one vinyl pick, we’re going up to Canada with Celine Dion’s re-release of Falling Into You. While its 30th Anniversary reissue wave first launched earlier this year with other color variants, Sony/Columbia followed up with an official Pearly White Vinyl 2LP pressing.
