Pharrell Produces John Legend, LISA Presses Play, and Amy Winehouse Returns to Vinyl

3,2, 1 – New Music Monday / 10-26-26

(3,2,1 New Music Monday Intro)

Welcome to Music That Matters with 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.

This week: John Legend buddies up with Pharrell, LISA hits Press Play, and Anderson .Paak and Cordae go full Step Brothers.

Plus, new Noga Erez and Ayron Jones, while Amy Winehouse goes Back to Black on vinyl.

(Countdown Video)

3 major album drops.

Leading it off – John Legend with Muse.

(“Daylight” clip)

After more than 20 years of being buds, John Legend and Pharrell Williams teamed up for their first full album together.

Pharrell produced the entire thing, and a lot of it was recorded at his studio inside Louis Vuitton headquarters in Paris. That’s just beyond fancy.

(“Bodies On The Floor” clip)

Next – LISA of BLACKPINK is flying solo with her EP: Press Play

(“SaWaDiKa” clip)

This six pack of songs digs into her Thai roots and feels like an action movie soundtrack, which is fitting because one of the songs is actually called “Tarantino.”

(“Tarantino” clip)

And then we have Anderson .Paak and Cordae with their album Heavy Is the Crown.

(“A Good Day” clip)

These two have been working together for years, but this is their first full album as a duo.

Be sure to check out the album cover, too – it gives you a pretty good hint at the fun you’re gonna get. It’s basically their own version of Step Brothers.

(“I’m On” clip)

2 new singles.

This first one comes from the soundtrack to Season 3 on Netflix of: Nobody Wants This.

(“Flights” clip)

That’s Noga Erez with her song: “Flights.”

Just an FYI – the soundtrack is stacked: Miley Cyrus, Metric, Megan Moroney & more.

Next – we get new Ayron Jones from his upcoming album

(“Glad You Came” clip)

That’s “Glad You Came” off of Excuse Me – full album drop this February

And a heads up – Ayron is showing his Seattle roots again and claims that this new record leans even harder into the grunge and metal influences he grew up with. Most excellent!

(Record Scratch video)

And finally, one vinyl pick.

Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black turns 20.

(“Back to Black” clip)

I’ve got the OG (flash the original album), but the anniversary edition is a three-LP set with four previously unreleased demos, rare B-sides, and a 2007 performance released in full on vinyl for the first time.

(“Rehab” clip)

If the three records aren’t enough, there’s also a special edition with moving images of Amy as the record spins.

That’s your 3 albums, 2 singles, and 1 vinyl for the week.

This has been 3, 2, 1 New Music Monday.

Until next time.
