MUSIC THAT MATTERS – “Lyric of the Day”

(Music Cut #1 — 2Pac, “To Live & Die in L.A.”)

Released on this day…

back in 1996…

just weeks after Tupac Shakur’s death…

came his album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.

(Music Cut #2 – “Hail Mary”)

And that title…

The 7 Day Theory…

it wasn’t just some made up name.

There was a reason behind it!

(Music Cut #3 – “Bomb First (My Second Reply)”)

Apparently, much of the album was recorded in just THREE DAYS!

And another FOUR days were spent mixing and finishing it!

That’s SEVEN DAYS!

And Tupac released it under a new name…

Makaveli!

A name inspired by an Italian philosopher he’d studied while in prison!

(Music Cut #4 — 2Pac, “To Live & Die in L.A.”)
