MUSIC THAT MATTERS – “Lyric of the Day”

(Music Cut #1 — Alice in Chains, “Again”)

Released on this day…

back in 1995…

Alice in Chains gave us their self-titled third album!

But most fans know it by another name…

Tripod!

(Music Cut #2 — “Again”)

That nickname comes from the three-legged dog on the cover!

But getting that picture…

was a little more complicated than you’d think!

(Music Cut #3 — “Grind”)

Photographer Rocky Schenck actually held auditions for THREE-LEGGED DOGS!

But after all that…

the band chose a grainy photograph that had been sent by FAX!

And that was exactly the look they wanted!

(Music Cut #4 — “Heaven Beside You”)

LYRIC OF THE DAY:
“Do what you wanna do
Go out and seek your truth” – Alice in Chains, “Heaven Beside You”
