Christmas . . . the day after / David Chang book (Eat a Peach) given away – twice! / New Books on a Sunday

morning babble / Sunday 12-26-21

This is the scribble that leads to the babble. Sometimes it gets tidied up, but sometimes . . . not so much. When all else fails – go watch the video!

How’s everybody doing? The day after a big holiday like Christmas – one can be tired, still celebrating, but even depressed. Check up on everyone.

I have not been drinking enough water. Feeling it.

Fun fact – I have had my teeth brushed prior to every Morning Babble.

As of those typing, the run hasn’t happened yet, but it will be #360 of the 5K runs – today is the day that I’ll surpass 3,106 miles on the Nike App and reach the Black Run Level. For the year, I’ll be surpassing 1,200 miles.

For Christmas, I was gifted a meal from David Chang’s Momofuku! We will be enjoying it on New Year’s Eve. So – yes, I’ll be continuing the talk and praise of Mr. David Chang.

Merry Christmas Eve with Cioppino – mmm! / New Music Friday with Mike Shinoda, Bryan Adams & Money Man

morning babble / Friday 12-24-21

This is the scribble that leads to the babble. Sometimes it gets tidied up, but sometimes . . . not so much. When all else fails – go watch the video!

Tonight – we spend Christmas Eve at my mother-in-law’s house, where we have the traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinner and celebrate Feast of the Seven Fishes. She makes Cioppino (Chuh-pee-no) – an Italian seafood stew. It’s amazing. The first Christmas Eve that my wife and I spent together was at her mom’s. After this meal, I immediately informed my side of the family that I unfortunately was never going to see them again on Christmas Eve. Cannot wait!

I ran #358

New Music Friday:

  • Money Man & Yung Bleu “Fans Go Crazy” – entertaining all the NBA stars used in the song – AD / Lebron / CP3 / D-Mitchell / Jalen Brown / Julius Randel / Harden. No Embid though. No making fun of Ben Simmons bricking it.
  • “We Good” (from the TV show “Dave”) – Lil Dicky & GaTa (Gay-Tuh) – Reminded me of a sports stadium song. It tried to get there. It’s no Tag Team “Whoomp!” (there it is)
  • Bryan Adams – Yes, “Summer of 69” Bryan Adams has a new album coming out next year: So Happy It Hurts, which is being released on March 11, 2022. Couple weeks ago – the song “Kick Ass” came out.
  • I did go back and listen to Ziggurats – the 4 song EP from Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park dude). NFT guy. Go there everybody – do it.

Friday Eve AND Christmas Eve Eve

Morning Babble Ho-Ho-Holiday Songs – accidentally had the “Enhanced” button pushed. It pulled The Puppini Sisters singing Here Comes Santa Claus like The Pointer Sisters but not. Then, it played “Dead Christmas” by Monster Magnet.

I ran! #357 in a row!

This morning I did shift back to podcasts. Today – it was Tim Ferriss. It was one of his Q&A episodes (it’s an AMA show) which is just packed with all kinds of knowledge and tips. Click here for a link to that. I still have 50 minutes to go. Using my white board, taking a picture of it via the phone, wiping it clean, and promptly starting the whole process over again. All my GOATs have great podcasts: David Chang / Ryan Holiday / Chase Jarvis.

A newer one that I’ve been enjoying a lot has been “All the Hacks” with Chris Hutchins. I have a couple to catch up on today, but one of the recent ones that had a disgusting amount of goodness was his interview with Kevin Rose. Click here for that.

I bailed on podcasts this morning and listened to my Morning Babble “Let’s Run” playlist. Wow – I haven’t listened to Run The Jewels, Korn, Godsmack in a long time. Busted through that run#356. Countdown to Three Sixty-Six is on!

Elf cereal was gifted to us by the House Elf – Durtle (his name).

You know what happens in 2 days – the Elf on the Shelf goes away – parents rejoice.

Welcome to the Shortest Day of the Year / First Day of Winter / Only gets colder though – no warmth yet except for holiday warmth – awwwww.

I ran. #355 of 5K runs for the year! Countdown to Three Sixty-Six continues.

Saw Rudolph last night – Donner and Santa were a couple jerks to Rudolph. Comedian Lewis Black could play the head elf: “Now, you come to practice and learn how to wiggle your ears and chuckle warmly and go hee hee and ho ho and important stuff like that.”

“If it wasn’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college.”

354 days in a row of 5K runs / This Sunday (12/26) – it appears I’ll reach my Black Level on the Nike App.

Better Monday because my son will be with me? Maybe?

Still driving my Jeep instead of a company vehicle which bears logos, websites, and phone numbers all over it. You have a tendency to drive a little differently. My wife drove the company vehicle and proved why you need to behave.
