morning babble: Podcast Tuesday: Beds have two uses / Shane Parrish quote

morning babble / Tuesday 09-06-22

This is the scribble that leads to the babble. Sometimes, it gets tidied up; but other times, not so much. When all else fails: watch the video!

Who’s still full? We had a couple birthday dinners for family moms, two charcuterie boards this weekend, that glorious Labor Day Brunch – holy breakfast meats!

PODCAST TUESDAY!

Peter Attia has a podcast called: the drive. The most recent episode that came out just yesterday is called “Understanding sleep and how to improve it.” Click here.

Over the years, Peter Attia has had Matthew Walker (Why We Sleep) on his podcast for 3 episodes. All of those are good, but this is like a highlight reel for them.

Time spent in bed has been my focus but they were saying that’s a good start but you really need to get that full 8 hours of actual sleep. I struggle there big time, but I’m trying. Currently, my watch tells me that I’m getting on average 6 hours, 12 minutes / 5 hours, 46 minutes, and 6 hours, 4 minutes.

Talk about naps / If you are struggling with sleeping at night – avoid naps. You want that sleep pressure build-up

If you’ve been trying to get to sleep and have been in bed for 20 minutes – get out of bed. Go read in the library. Get sleepy and then get back into bed. Train yourself that bed is a time for sleep.

The bed is for two things: Sleeping & Tickle Fights

Please subscribe on YouTube and spread the Babble wherever you can – Thank you!

3-Day Fast begins next Monday (9/12) – Click here for the last month’s fasting playlist!

QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“Spend less time trying to be more efficient at things you hate and more time doing things you don’t want to stop.”by Shane Parrish (Farnam Street)
