MUSIC THAT MATTERS – “Lyric of the Day”

(Music Cut #1 — “Your Ma Said You Cried in Your Sleep Last Night”)

Yesterday…

John Paul Jones showed up with R.E.M.

So, for another day…

we’re going to stick with Led Zeppelin…

via Robert Plant.

(Music Cut #2 — Robert Plant, “Your Ma Said You Cried in Your Sleep Last Night”)

Back in 1990…

Plant recorded this song for his album…

Manic Nirvana.

And it became a Top 10 hit…

on Billboard’s rock chart.

But Plant wasn’t the first to record it.

(Music Cut #3 — Kenny Dino’s original recording)

That would be Kenny Dino…

all the way back in 1961.

Nearly 30 years before Robert Plant…

but also before Led Zeppelin even existed.

LYRIC OF THE DAY:
“Don’t you cry, don’t you cry, don’t you cry no more
Ain’t it gonna be the way it was before.”
