Happy Weekend . . . I was struggling today. I know that I’ve talked about The National and how much they pull me through dark times (clip) Dark times – that sounds so evil. But – it can be easy to punch back at yourself. I do have someone else that is a guilty musical pleasure that helps put a smile back on my face. (clip) That’s right Angels & Airwaves it’s a band of Tom DeLonge’s. Besides them and Blink-182, in the long ago past, he also had a one off album called Box Car Racer (clip)
So good – alright who’s coming up: Dexter and the Moonrocks, some Brent favorites – Fitz, Berninger, and Elbow, we’ll also discuss Miley, Sleep Token, and More.

New Music Weekend:
- Four guys from Abilene, TX call themselves – Dexter and the Moonrocks (“Ritalin”) Last year, they released a six-pack of songs with the EP – Western Space Grunge (“Sad in Carolina”) This past week they released: Happy To Be Here – another six-pack of songs – for those who are counting – that tallies up to a half a case of music between last year and today. The song that I’ve been enjoying off this new EP is the tune “Sarahtonin” (clip)
- Three rapid fire clips of Brent Music (“Clap”) Fitz and The Tantrums have officially begun the Spotify countdown to their new album that is arriving on July 25th. It’s called – Man on the Moon. That album’s title track just dropped this past week (clip) I talked about The National earlier. Their lead singer is Matt Berninger who has his 2nd solo album – Get Sunk – coming out at the end of this month. He’s already treated us to two of the album’s tracks and now we have a third called “Inland Ocean” (clip) British band Elbow are following up their 2024 album – AUDIO VERTIGO with AUDIO VERTIGO ECHO elbow EP 5 which appears to be like a continuation of the band’s release from last year. I’ll take it! And – we can all have it on June 6th. In the meantime, Elbow is giving us one its songs – “Sober” (clip)
- Several quick hits of new music: On May 30th, we get the 9th studio album – Something Beautiful – from Miley Cyrus. 13 tracks in all. 3 have already been handed out to us. Today, we get the 4th single called “More To Lose” and, of course, a video to go along with it. Visit brentevans.net for the link // The mysterious UK band, Sleep Token, have unveiled their fourth studio album called Even in Arcadia. Why so mysterious? Well, if you don’t know, Its members remain anonymous by wearing mask. I could claim to be one – I am so not. I can’t play. I’m just a good listener and so far, I’m enjoying Sleep Token // A band that I’ve talked about several times here before is noshows. The band doesn’t appear to have any full blown album coming our way, but a cover was dropped of the classic song ‘Free Ride’ (clip)
