MUSIC THAT MATTERS – “Lyric of the Day”
(Music Cut #1)
Released on this day in 1996…
this song had nothing to do with Scooby-Doo…
and it definitely wasn’t for kids.
Fun Lovin’ Criminals with “Scooby Snacks.”
(Music Cut #2)
It blended rock, hip-hop, jazz…
and dialogue from some of Quentin Tarantino’s biggest movies.
(Music Cut #3)
Despite the title…like I said
“Scooby Snacks” wasn’t about the cartoon.
It was slang for Valium, and the movie clips came from Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.
Quentin Tarantino received songwriter credit because of those samples.
(Music Cut #4)
LYRIC OF THE DAY:
“Sonny, I need you cool. Are you cool? I am cool.” – Fun Lovin’ Criminals via Reservoir Dogs dialogue between Mr. White and Mr. Orange
