with a song about unraveling a sweater…

and a music video…

that didn’t have a single sweater in it.

Weezer got pitch after pitch…

all built around the obvious idea:

sweaters.

They hated them.

Then Spike Jonze showed up…

with a very different idea.

Dogs.

No sweater story.

Just Weezer performing on a blue stage…

while a bunch of dogs wandered through the shot.

So, all Weezer needed…

was a good boy.
