MUSIC THAT MATTERS – “Lyric of the Day”
(Music Cut #1)
April 16th, 1996…
this album dropped.
Rage Against The Machine – “Evil Empire.”
(Music Cut #2)
And that cover… is not random.
That boy in a cape came from a 1940s comic book –
a character called “CrimeBuster.”
(Music Cut #3)
But look closer.
The “C” on his chest was changed to an “e.” For “Evil Empire.”
Originally, he stood for law and order –
Of course, Rage flipped that as well into something else.
(Music Cut #4)
LYRIC OF THE DAY:
“Ya trying to tire me, tire me
Why don’t you get from in front of me?.” – Rage Against The Machine “Tire Me”
Most people think “Bulls on Parade” was the Grammy winner, but “Tire Me” (a deeper cut on the album) took the trophy.
